DateTimeHub - Online Time & Date Tools
Date Difference
Date Difference Calculator: Compute the elapsed time between two calendar dates. The tool breaks the span into years, months, weeks, days and also shows a total day count. Ideal for project scheduling, age calculations, service duration, academic terms and milestone tracking.
Pick a start (From) and end (To) date. The algorithm counts full years, then full months, then derives weeks and remaining days so the breakdown feels natural and avoids timezone or DST issues by using pure calendar math.
Date Difference FAQs
How are years and months calculated?
We advance calendar years until the next increase would exceed the end date, then months, ensuring human-readable calendar units.
Why does the weeks value change when I adjust dates by a day?
Weeks are derived from the remaining days after years and months are removed, so shifting by a day can tip the remainder across a 7-day boundary.
Is time-of-day considered?
No. Calculations operate on date-only values normalized to midnight, avoiding daylight saving anomalies.
Can I use it to calculate age?
Yes. Set the birth date as From and today as To. Years gives the age while months, weeks & days show the fine-grained remainder.
What if start is after end?
The tool swaps internally and indicates direction (after/before) in the summary line.
